Sound familiar?

You didn't open a business to answer emails at 11pm.

Running a small business means wearing every hat. And now everyone says you should be using AI, but nobody tells you where to start, which tools to trust, or what's safe to put into them. AI won't run your business for you. Used well, it takes the repetitive stuff off your plate without putting your customers' trust at risk.

What I believe

AI should make people better at what they do, not replace them.

Your customers come to you for you: your craft, your judgment, the way you treat people. I'll never teach you to hand that off. I'll teach you to hand off everything else, safely, with four ground rules built into every part of the workshop.

I also believe AI can do real harm when it isn't used thoughtfully. I don't support using it to replace people or in ways that hurt society at large, and I don't support the rush to build data centers and roll out AI everywhere without a plan to take care of the workers it affects. That's why this workshop is about using AI deliberately, on your terms, and only where it actually helps.

01

Protect your data

What's safe to share with AI, what never should be, and the privacy settings most tools bury.

02

Stay human

AI drafts, you decide. And you're honest with customers about when AI is helping.

03

Check the work

AI can sound confident and still be wrong. Catch mistakes before customers see them, and know when to skip AI entirely.

04

Skip the hype

Free and low-cost tools first, honest advice on which upgrades are worth it, and no pressure to buy what you don't need.

What you'll set up

Small fixes. Big time back.

No coding, no jargon, no expensive software. These are a few examples of what owners like you walk out with, already working on your own laptop and phone, with the guardrails built in.

Restaurants & cafés

  • Reply to every Google and Yelp review in your own voice, in seconds
  • Turn this week's specials into ready-to-post social captions
  • Draft supplier orders and catering quotes from a quick voice note

Guardrail

You read every reply before it posts, and customer details never go into the AI.

Retail & boutiques

  • Write product descriptions from a photo and a few words
  • Plan a month of promotions and email newsletters in one sitting
  • Answer common customer questions automatically, day or night

Guardrail

Automatic answers stick to facts you approve, like hours, returns, and shipping.

Salons, fitness & wellness

  • Automatic booking reminders that cut down on no-shows
  • Friendly follow-ups that bring past clients back
  • Class schedules and announcements written for you

Guardrail

Client health and personal notes stay out of AI tools entirely.

Trades & home services

  • Turn job notes into a clean, professional quote
  • Send invoices and polite payment reminders without the awkwardness
  • Answer the "are you available?" calls and texts you can't get to on the job

Guardrail

You check every number on a quote or invoice before it goes out.

Your website, fully loaded

Revamp your website, or build a new one from scratch.

Outdated site? No site at all? With AI doing the heavy lifting, you can put up a modern, professional website yourself, with all the features customers expect, and no developer or agency bill.

How it works

One afternoon to start. A community to keep going.

01

Come to the workshop

A relaxed, few-hour session in San Carlos, or join live online if you can't make it in person. Bring your laptop and the tasks that eat up your week.

02

Set it up together

We don't just talk about AI. You build your own time-savers in the room, step by step, with the guardrails that keep your data and customers safe, and help whenever you get stuck.

03

Keep going together

Join the community of San Carlos owners who've been through the workshop. Swap ideas, ask questions, and stay current on what's safe and worth using as the tools change.

The community

You don't have to figure this out alone.

AI changes every month. The workshop is one afternoon, but the community keeps going: a group of local owners comparing notes as the tools change, so nobody falls behind or gets talked into something they don't need.

An online group

Ask questions, share what's working, and get unstuck. Everyone in it is a San Carlos owner who's been through the workshop.

Local meetups

Regular get-togethers in San Carlos to swap ideas, see what your neighbors have set up, and try new tools side by side.

Resources and a newsletter

Guides, templates, and plain-English updates on what's new, what's worth trying, and what to watch out for.

Pricing

One price. Hours back every week.

If it gives you back even a few hours in the first month, it's paid for itself. The community comes with it, for good.

Questions

Good questions.

I've never used AI. Is this really for me?+

Yes. That's exactly who it's for. If you can send an email and use a smartphone, you can do everything in this workshop. We start from zero and go at a comfortable pace.

What do I need to bring?+

A laptop, and a short list of the tasks that eat up your week. That list is what we'll work on together.

Is it safe to use AI with my customer information?+

It can be, if you know the rules. We spend real time on this: what's fine to share, what to keep out, how to turn on the privacy settings most tools bury, and how to check AI's work before it reaches a customer.

Will my customers know I'm using AI?+

That's your call, and we'll talk it through. Our view: be upfront where it matters, keep a person in charge of anything that goes out, and never use AI in a way you wouldn't be comfortable explaining to a customer.

Will I have to pay for a bunch of new software?+

No. We focus on tools with free or low-cost plans, and we'll be upfront about which paid upgrades are actually worth it for a business your size.

What's the community actually like?+

A group of San Carlos business owners who've all been through the workshop. There's an online group for questions and wins, regular meetups in town, and a newsletter with new guides and what's worth knowing as AI changes.

Is there an ongoing fee?+

No. The community is included with your workshop, for life.

What if I can't make it in person?+

Join the live virtual session instead. You get the same workshop, the same resources, and the same community.

When is the next workshop?+

We're setting dates now. Everyone on the waitlist hears about them first and gets first pick of seats before they're announced publicly.

Save your seat.

Seats are limited so everyone gets hands-on help. Join the waitlist and you'll be first to hear about dates in San Carlos and online.

Which format works for you?

No payment now. We'll only email you about workshops.
